Relocating to New Orleans to raise three children and later to Mobile, AL, Sydney has worked for 17 years in the Mobile dance community.  For 13 years she taught Ballet at Spring Hill College, and as the only dance professional produced full length evenings of her choreography as well as working in collaborative projects with the theater department.  In addition, she has choreographed a ballet for Parapluie Dance Company and Mobile Ballet's Company Showcase performance.  She has contributed choreography to the This is Christmas Program, Junior Miss talent winners and college audition pieces for her students.

In addition to teaching at LPA, Sydney is a senior teacher at Mobile Ballet where she has taught for 17 years.  Her students have been accepted into professional companies including NYCB, colleges, such as SMU and FSU, and prestigious summer programs including San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, School of American Ballet, Chautaqua and Miami City Ballet.  Sydney is also a faculty member at Broadway South, teaches Home School Ballet classes and coaches dancers privately.
